ToggleA. Marcus Freeman Notre Dame Fighting Irish Sweatshirt
Notre Dame signed 23 2024 commits. This class had impact talent, depth, and what the Fighting Irish needed. Notre Dame has had two strong classes. Notre Dame’s 2024 and two-year recruiting grades are assessed after signing. Notre Dame’s attack is better and deeper. Future Notre Dame attack may be talented. Irish Breakdown player grades. Upside grade follows current rating and ranking range. The 2023 class is rated by signing grades, not freshman performance. Once Marcus Freeman became Notre Dame coach, quarterback was the largest offensive need. In his first two classes, ND has signed two top quarterbacks, rebuilding the position. The unexpected purchase of Kenny Minchey prevented a major position loss. Coaches admire Minchey’s knowledge, farm, and arms. Carr led the 2024 class and attended Notre Dame before Minchey. His arm, athleticism, and football IQ are unique. Recruiting these two guys in consecutive classes improves Notre Dame’s starter chances. I heard Notre Dame’s running back recruitment troubles were due to elite recruits not attending. Lance Taylor initiated the turnaround, Deland McCullough boosted it. Love was a Top 50 national player, and staff admired his explosiveness and versatility. Though always a great athlete, Love improved his positional feel and graded higher as a senior. Notre Dame got two great 2024 backs. Initial signing Williams gave the Irish the best all-around back. Over 4,000 rushing and 3,000 receiving yards in his career. Young runner with good eyesight and feet. Notre Dame has signed a top pure runner in years. ND running backs have home runs, all-around talent, and hammers. Over the past two years, Notre Dame has recruited running backs better than most institutions. Two 2023 players left before the 2024 class was signed, so this rating is based on current players. Jordan Faison’s high school walk-on status affects this grade. Faison was a steal for the Irish based on his rookie performance, but Notre Dame will weigh in on his rating. Texas receivers Greathouse and Smith sign last in 2023. Excellent high school player Greathouse was a Top 100 recruit. The Irish got a top floor pass receiver due to his undervaluation. I admire Smith’s underestimated speed, athleticism, and ball abilities. Games are returned by Smith. ND’s 2024 class complemented 2023 and itself. Three 2024 recruits are better at separate positions but want to play two receivers. Five-star Williams boosts speed and playmaking. Gilbert’s height and ball skills make him athletic. Football catcher Saldate excelled in his final season. Two years ago, Notre Dame signed two Top 100, two Top 150, and one Top 250 players. Because it may have used another signee for numbers, it gets an A-. I give this group an A for Faison’s freshman performance. Notre Dame has added competent tight ends in the last two classes, but no stars. They complement each other, making this two-for-one great. The 6-foot-260 Flanagan is a superb athlete. After playing defensive end in high school, Flanagan should block and pass well. Larsen and Flanagan get along. His 6-3, 212 build makes him a move tight end. Larsen runs fast but passes. If larger or more explosive, Larsen’s pass catching and game awareness may help him rise. The players are good. Both offensive lines were A-. The group works well and gets an A. Elite skill, potential, and 2023’s advantage over 2024 are crucial. Harry Hiestand started 2024 strong after a successful 2023. When Joe Rudolph arrived, I wondered if he could continue Hiestand’s work. Rudolph adapted and thrived. Five-star offensive linemen are essential, and Notre Dame got one in both classes. Jagusah was the top 2023 offensive recruit following a stellar senior year. This huge (6-7, 330) blocker improved his senior pass protection. Lambert plays long and big. I see him as a top pass blocker and devastating run blocker with great feet. Both are first-round NFL Draft candidates. No Top 100 recruits joined the deep class. Four Top 200 and two Top 250 talents signed. Five non-five-star recruits had 4. 5-star potential. Both courses have potential but require work. Lambert, Prescod added pure tackle depth in 2024. Absher arrived as a tackle but had pass protection concerns from a triple option strategy. He blocks relentlessly. Absher can play inside and guard, and Prescod, Jagusah, and Lambert are longer and faster. Both classes featured solid interiors. Pendleton and Jones are big, strong, short-area, high-floor players. Knapp, like Otting, is short, athletic, and tough. Big Terek is strong. Notre Dame added size to an undersized offensive line (particularly inside) and impact skill and potential in these two classes. Promising offensive line talent. More Information About Marcus Freeman Notre Dame Fighting Irish Sweatshirt
Marcus Freeman Notre Dame Fighting Irish Sweatshirt. Offensive linemen are unique in that they work quietly but make loud plays. On Wednesday, outstanding 2024 West Roxbury (Mass. ) Catholic Memorial offensive tackle Guerby Lambert signed with Notre Dame. Lambert may be the quietest 6-7, 300-pound dominant force. He is a polite, eloquent young man. You notice a bully when you watch him play. Lambert appreciated every second of National Signing Day, being modest and grateful. “My day was good,” Lambert told Irish Breakdown. Finally signing feels amazing. I’m excited since we’ve been waiting for this day for a long time. “I’m extremely excited,” he maintained. This has been a long time coming. Ready to compete. I’m ready to play for Notre Dame and grow. ”
The Lambert family, who are Haitian and humble, appreciated his time too. They know it’s a rare feat as the next chapter begins. “They’re absorbing everything like me,” Lambert remarked. “They’re lucky to be here. They’re thrilled for me and excited for the next phase. ”
Lambert was courted by former offensive line coach Harry Hiestand early on, making his recruiting intriguing. Then the coach switched. Notre Dame maintained and gained momentum during that change. Joe Rudolph deserves credit for it. “That transition was smooth because of coach Rudolph,” Lambert said. “After two phone calls with him, I knew I’d want to be mentored by him. He’s wonderful, and I’m glad they choose him following Coach Hiestand. “It would have been a pleasure to play under Coach Hiestand because he’s a legend, but Coach Rudolph is also amazing,” Lamber said. “I know he’ll reveal my potential. ”
Lambert’s former high school friend Boubacar Traore, a 2023 Irish recruit, was also important. Lambert gained new yet familiar insight from Traore. He said, “I talked to him a couple of times to get some background on how it is. ” I realize recruiting and playing are different. I know he’s struggling because he’s distant from home. I spoke to him a few times to assess the transition and classes. I learned a lot from him about Notre Dame. ”
Notre Dame sold itself in the end. Lambert knew campus was where he belonged every time he arrived. Lambert liked the university vibe. “It was a really beautiful campus,” Lambert said. “You get that tight-knit community feel, like Catholic Memorial. Notre Dame reflects our small Catholic school’s close-knit community. Any visitor would be amazed by the campus. ”
Lambert is very forward-thinking, making the fit even more obvious. Notre Dame has everything you need after football for the long term. “I chose Notre Dame because I know what they can do for me in the future, whether through football,” he added. “Coach (Marcus) Freeman said football will hold a press conference. He meant that football ends quickly, whether you get hurt or not. I chose Notre Dame for that reason. My future was my concern. Anyone who cares about their future goes to Notre Dame, so I went. Notre Dame will never struggle recruiting offensive lines. Lambert is On3’s No. 22 overall talent and No. 4 offensive tackle in the 2024 recruiting class, the latest success story. From every angle, the Irish got a great deal in West Roxbury. Marcus Freeman Notre Dame Fighting Irish Sweatshirt
